AG stuff at Costco!!!!

Hello!!! I went to Costco on Saturday and went to the book section to see what AG stuff they had. I found these pet travel sets for $23, which is one dollar more than if you buy the pets online from AG. The only pets they had were Pepper, Sugar, and Honey, and each set came with the pet (no collar), two food dishes with the pet's name on them, a blue and purple pillow with the pet's name embroidered on it, and a placemat for the dishes. It all comes in a cardboard "carrier/crate" with holes in the top, and one side opens easily so you can reuse the "carrier/crate". These are only available at Costco and possibly other stores but not online at costco.com. Now for the photos... (sorry for the bad quality pictures, I took them with my iPod)

Each box has breathing holes...

This is where you open the box, every box has this.

Hanna is on a lot of packaging!!!!

Review of the AG Fancy Ice Skates!!!

Hello everyone!!! It is actually cold enough to go skating- my brother and dad went two days ago on the lake by our house!! I got these skates for Christmas and might actually get some skating in (not outside skating, indoor)!!!!

The skates come in a box like the fashion boots.
They cost $18 normally, but I got them on sale for $7 on the Black Friday sale. I don't think I would pay $18 for them, which is why I got them on sale. I think for $18 AG could have put in a cute skate bag to hold them, even if it had Innerstar U stuff on it.

The skates are more of a cream color than the white in this picture. They have decorative gold stitching in the front but the rest of the stitching is white and blends in.The laces do not come out and are something like tinsel woven around an elastic cord. I think the gold details is what makes AG call them "Fancy" ice skates.

Side view.

Back view. The skates are easy to get on and off but the little tab thing helps.

They kind of bunch up a little but who cares!!

It is possible to get your doll to stand in different positions.

The end is slightly pointy but not really.

The front end does have these little grooves. They don't really do anything except make them more realistic.

Here you can see the little peg thingys that hold the metal skate onto the boot.

This is the 2006 rhythmic gymnastics set leotard.

By "glittery skate guards" AG means clear plastic skate guards with a few pieces of glitter mixed in. They are flexible and it might be difficult for a little kid to get them to stay on, I usually have to press them on. They could use some more glitter if AG wants to call them glittery.

This is just to show what I mean of nothing holds the skate guards on and how they could fall off and get lost. The skates are really cool, but for the price you wish they came with more stuff, I could see adding a bag, hair accessories, and even gloves or mittens to even out the cost. By the way, a sheet of aluminum foil makes a great ice rink thingy. Stay tuned for more posts!!!!!

Saturday Sites- Saige!!!

I am getting so excited for Saige's release!! This weeks Saturday Sites post has links to more Saige info!!

~Saige Reviews- Doll Diaries has put together a list of reviews from bloggers who received Saige and her media packet, plus more pictures.

~Saige's AG homepage- This page is the GOTY archives and they now have a window for Saige. You can "track her journey to the store nearest you" and play her new game, which I don't really like. I found it really hard and always quit after level 1. I really love the purple and gold theme!!!

~Saving up for an AG item- Liz at American Girl Fan shared tips a while ago on saving up for expensive doll items, I think we all have that doll item that we really want. American Girl has tons of stuff but it all has a ginormous price tag!!!

Enjoy!!! I am really excited for Saige's release!!! Check back tomorrow for a review of the fancy ice skates form AG!!!!

Slipper Repair!!!!

Hello people!! Can you believe Christmas is in three days!!! My
Snuggly Snow Pjs from Christmas 2008 are my favorite thing to wear in the winter, but the elastic strap in the back broke. It was a clear plastic elastic, not fabric-y like the newer slippers. Last night Hannah went to work and repaired them for me. Keep reading for the how-to from Hannah (the human)!!!

SUPPLIES:

  • Slippers with no elastic, I just ripped out the plastic stuff. The slippers were also quite dirty so I hand-washed them in cold water, combed out the fur with a fine toothed comb so it wouldn't mat, and put them on a floor vent. I combed out the fur every so often too. I wouldn't put the furry slippers in the washing machine or dryer as the fur might mat.
  • Needle and thread: be careful with the needle, and my thread was a similar color to my slippers.
  • Elastic, mine was braided, width is your choice.
  • Your doll for measurements.

Gather your supplies!!!

The elastic was sewn in the corners of the slipper, that is where I will sew my elastic.

Sew your elastic into the corner. Do not cut the elastic! If you aren't sure if it is sturdy, Gently tug on it a few times. Tie a knot and cut the thread. It is OK if your thread in longish, you can tuck it into the slipper!!

See how the elastic is sewn into the corner??? (My friend had a party at a nail salon, and because we were supposed to get lots of snow, My band concert was canceled and I got to go. I got silver to match my Christmas skirt from AG that I got at the AG outlet store this summer for $18)

Notice the elastic is not cut!!

Put the slipper on your doll's foot and stretch the elastic around to the other side. Stretch it so that it will stay on your doll's foot, but cut excess, I cut the elastic past my thumb.

Sew the elastic into the other corner and gently tug to make sure it is secure. Repeat this process for the other slipper and you are done!!!
Enjoy the slippers and keep your toes warm!!

Infinity Scarf!!!

Inspired by the Spicy's Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 1 Infinity scarf I made my own. I think Hannah (the human) may need to reread the instructions to the camera as there is a lot of glare in the pictures!! Anyway...

SUPPLIES:

  • a scarf (doll sized) or knit your own scarf!!! (see below picture for length)
  • a safety pin (a needle and thread works too but make sure you have your parents permission)
I had a super long doll scarf from my grandma and when I saw it I knew what I would do with it.

This is just a length comparison:)

I used a safety pin because I wanted to be able to take it out.

Just loop it around your neck for a cool new look. I wore short sleeves because I was worried that I might cook!!
Have fun with your new scarf!!!

Cherry Pepsi!!!!

First of all, I am so sorry for the delay. I have had a lot of activities and homework, although my procrastination is to blame on the homework part of it.:p Anyways, when I got the gel clings at Target I also found this Wild Cherry Pepsi.

It was $1 in the dollar section but this was a long time ago...

It is lip balm and it is actually quite good!

I was surprised that the cap came off!!!

It even has all of the writing! (not sure if this is good or bad)

Hanna (the doll) can hold it with some help from a clear elastic!
Keep checking back for more posts- I don't think I'll have much homework.

Gel Clings!!!

On Friday I was at Target and I found these cute gel clings in the dollar section!!
They were a dollar per pack. (I took the last penguin one that they had on the shelves)

I also got a gingerbread house with gingerbread men.

These are the penguins on the window. I don't have a picture of the gingerbread house because my other window faces my neighbor's house. Isn't sad that we don't have snow yet??? On Saturday night it poured buckets of rain, if it had been snow we would have had about a foot of snow!! On Sunday the temperature reached 62F!!!:(

I got some other things that will be posted later this week!!!:)

Making snowflakes!!!

Hello People! (and dolls!!!) I am so excited for some snow but today the high was 47 degrees. (Fahrenheit) Then I decided to make my own snowflakes!! These are simple decorations or ornaments that you can make in about ten minutes!! Read on for the instructions!!!

Supplies

  • Scissors
  • 1 sheet of normal copy paper
  • tape (or glue)
  • a stapler (with staples)
  • OPTIONAL: embellishments (the stickers)
  • OPTIONAL: yarn or string

Here are all my supplies!!

Fold your paper into fourths accordion style.
(fold in half, then in half again.)

Then fold into eighths accordion style.

Cut into strips on the creases. You should have eight strips.

Fold all of the strips in half. Put into each other as shown above and cut about an inch on each side of the fold. Do this so you have four.

Staple on the fold.

Line up the edges like the above photo.

Repeat on both sides and pull down by the staple. It should look like a heart.

Staple the end.

If needed do a double staple.

If you want to you can keep it as is, thread a piece of yarn/ribbon/string through and make it an ornament.
If not, repeat with the other three so you have four hearts.

Flatten it.

Line up the points and flatten it.

Start to pull it out...

Until it looks like this!!!

Repeat on the other side and on the other three.

Fold the end up...

Get a piece of tape this long...

Put it on the inside of the outside strip.

Tape it to the inside of the other outside wall.
Flip it over and do the same. Then repeat with the other two.

Your snowflake!!

I put a sticker on the center!!

I added yarn to hang it.

Yippee!! Isn't it pretty!

P.S. Thanks to my friend Emily for helping out!!!
